A shimmering speckled lake
it's beauty has shown a coming tryst
my heart will melt as the dusk will fade and turn into a mist
I could hardly see through all the twilight as I intrinsically rocked to and fro
and a peek of sun rays thoroughly warmed me
and the wind gave a cool summer blow
all night my heart had been pounding
as the sun rose one second I slept
then I gripped the paddles braided handles
slowly through the water they crept
as I came to approaching the shoreline
a small intimation was seen
I stepped to it looking enthused
pushing aside branches that leaned
as my eyes began to slowly wander
I caught a small glimpse of a vine
a red delicate rose had been put there
and into a branch neatly twined
as I carefully twisted the branches
a rose petal fell to the ground
when I slowly bent over to catch it
my eyes got to wander around
I shaded my eyes from the warm light
I searched, my eyes stretched through the trees
then I saw him with eleven red roses
and a sweet face looking back at me
I took the roses and I hugged him
and I gave him a kiss on the head
then I thought to myself that I'd kiss him
but he reached in and kissed me instead
